      if I use the best sellers shortcode on the orders page ( makes sense to use it there to up sell before they commit to submitting their purchase )

      is there a way to have it reload or update the page when added to the cart? so it shows on the orders page that the user is already one.

        not at the moment, but you could do a reload/trigger on click. should be easy enough
        (might make that optional one day even)
