[24-Mar-2015 19:13:26 UTC] cURL error: [60] SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificateWe are receiving the payments through paypal but not the orders on the site.
Customers state that the thank you page just keeps refreshing.
Any idea how to fix this issue?
24 March, 2015 at 8:07 pm #8691what version of the paypal plugin ?
24 March, 2015 at 8:07 pm #8692and, is your site using SSL ?
24 March, 2015 at 8:12 pm #8693Version 2.1.7.5
I don’t know about SSL
Do NOT use SSLThis should be off by default, but if you have connection problems getting your orders sent and verified by PayPal, try ticking this box
This is unchecked.
24 March, 2015 at 8:20 pm #8694>This is unchecked.
and it should be unchecked (in fact, i will take that option out one day altogether)either way it’s your server (php/’curl) setup speak to your host or administrator
see also here (in general)and here in particular
24 March, 2015 at 8:27 pm #8695Cheers but I Don’t understand that.
Do you have any idea why it’s only just started happening?

24 March, 2015 at 8:38 pm #8697server software update i would have thought..
24 March, 2015 at 8:44 pm #8698on second thoughts.
give me five minutes and i might be able to send you something you could try24 March, 2015 at 8:53 pm #8699how comfortable are you with changing a line of code in a file ? (as there might be a better more future proof way to get around this one)
24 March, 2015 at 9:18 pm #8700Ive tried to follow one of the instructions to fix the problem.
Added a file to the server and pointed php.ini to it.
If you have another idea ill be happy to try it.
24 March, 2015 at 9:20 pm #8701try updating the paypal plugin to 2.1.7.7.
might actually in fact be down to me using a – now – old certificate in the ipn listener2.1.7.7 uses inbuilt WP cert chains now (as opposed to using its own bundle), so updating WP will automatically also mean paypal uses that bundle instead (and is a much better approach anyway)
24 March, 2015 at 9:22 pm #8702PS tested here on my server and works well..
24 March, 2015 at 9:25 pm #8706oh, and if you update it , do a test order and please let me know how it goes
24 March, 2015 at 9:31 pm #8709I’ve updated the plugin.
Can’t test myself but we are likely to get more orders tonight so I will let you know if any more problems arise.
Thanks again for the amazing support.
