Hi Olly, I hope you are well!
Is there a way to export the customer details into a CSV or the likes?
Thank you 🙂
31 May, 2018 at 10:09 am #37676I am sure there are plenty of wordpress plugins out there that let you export registered users with whatever data they chose to register
and there’s also the “WordPress -> tools -> export personal data” option (WP 4.9.6+)
31 May, 2018 at 10:47 am #37680Unfortunately we have guest checkout enabled and the majority of customers don’t register.
Is there a table in WP Pizza that stores the first name, last name, phone and email?
31 May, 2018 at 11:00 am #37681>and the majority of customers don’t register
then I cannot really see any legitimate reason for handling/needing that data to be honest (I am missing something here ?)>Is there a table in WP Pizza that stores the first name, last name, phone and email?
personal info is stored with each order . there is no dedicated table for this , unless a user has registered of course, then it will be available like any other wordpress user data31 May, 2018 at 11:03 am #37682The restaurant wishes to enable guest checkouts to increase conversion rates whilst maintaining the ability to Remarket email and SMS promotions in the future.
Thanks anyway, I suppose I’ll create a function for this.

and this would be completely illegal. never mind GDPR (which may or may not apply to that restaurant)
it’s simply called SPAM31 May, 2018 at 11:06 am #37684Haha don’t shoot the messenger. I don’t get paid to argue with the boss.
31 May, 2018 at 11:11 am #37685>don’t shoot the messenger
I wasn’t going to 🙂FYI : I specifically do not make that data easily accessible as it inevitably gets misused.
31 May, 2018 at 11:15 am #37686That’s a fair idea, I don’t blame you!
It’s a little more relaxed over here in Australia, however yes still very much considered spam.
Unfortunately it’s a case of keep the boss happy or he’ll find someone else who will :\
31 May, 2018 at 11:16 am #37687just making an educated guess here and assuming the restaurant in question is in Australia (I might be wrong on that front of course)
maybe you want to tell your boss this (just saying):quote:
The penalty units referred to in the Spam Act are equal to $210 each. For example, the penalty under section 25(5)(b) of the Spam Act for a company with a previous record of spamming and who sent two or more spam messages on a given day without consent is a maximum fine of 10,000 penalty units. This equates to a maximum penalty of $2,100,000.I am sure variations of the above exist for most – if not all – countries

I personally get bombarded ALL the time, the SMS marketing has gone crazy in Australia.
31 May, 2018 at 11:22 am #37690like elsewhere, the laws exist in most places to deal with that.
the problem – as always – is the enforcement of them….31 May, 2018 at 11:28 am #37691Very true.
Quick question for you, has the comments variable in the array changed it’s name? Is it still ccomments?
$order[customer][ccomments][value]
31 May, 2018 at 11:32 am #37692i am quite certain that the rest of the world is monitoring what will happen in the next few months or so regarding GDPR
(might not mean anything to you, but in short, it’s massive fines for mishandling personal data)suddenly – after years of companies spamming their way through life they are all panicking (and rightly so) because the fines are upto 20Million or 4% (whatever is the greater ! ) and they are all suddenly becoming conscientious about this . Ha. servers them right.
…coming soon to a location near you I would think …..
31 May, 2018 at 11:34 am #37693> $order[customer][ccomments][value]
it’s not me who decides which field you use for comments …
it depends on which field YOU have set in wppizza->form fields to be used for comments (if you hover over the enable button in there [v3.5+] you will see the parameter key)31 May, 2018 at 11:34 am #37694Thanks Olly 🙂
I hope so haha. We get hundreds of spam emails each day it’s too much -.-
31 May, 2018 at 11:42 am #37695> We get hundreds of spam emails each day it’s too much -.-
and you are asked to do something to add to this ? the mind boggles ….31 May, 2018 at 11:45 am #37696Yes I know lol a bit of a contradiction. You have changed my mind since talking with you. I find it hard to say no to clients!
Much of the spam we get, we’ve never even dealt with the company before! If it’s from a company we’ve used before I don’t mind so much.
31 May, 2018 at 11:51 am #37697> If it’s from a company we’ve used before I don’t mind so much.
sure, and if you’ve opted in to such emails, it’s perfectly legitimatesome related musings on that subject:
