Olly,
Thank you for your previous reply on our ingredients issue, with your help we have resolved that particular problem.
We’re moving on now to navigation. We are aware of the widget that allows us to display categories in a navigational element as well as the short code. Before we get into some heavy CSS modification I wanted to get your opinion on proper implementation.
We are using the Avada theme which is a responsive theme. By using the widget or short codes to display our categories. We are unable to get them to stick at the top of the page when visitors are scrolling. Also we’re losing a portion of the mini order box because it is moving up behind our header. You can see what I am referring to at http://geauxdine.com/our-menu .
Avada theme is our primary development platform because of it’s tremendous versatility.
I currently am considering moving the menu navigation to the right column below the mini order form. Our issue with that is; that we lose that right column when going down to iPhone level. Therefore we have no means for our end user to navigate the menu properly.
Thank you in advance for your input on this we are still trying to learn the versatility of your product.
Also I would like to make a plug for a second menu option I saw that request in other post. Our next client has four separate menus. Their main menu, lunch menu, catering menu, and breakfast menu. It would be great if we could drag items to a menu much like WordPress does with its menu system. I’m sure your system probably can accommodate this now, we just don’t know enough about it to implement it.
I saw that someone had requested that end users be able to order by selecting a previous order. You said you would consider that in an upcoming version I think that would be a great addition to your plug-in. Most people order the same thing over and over again so it would certainly increase the end user experience.

– that link you have there does not use Avada– if something is hidden behind something else, then it’s a z-index setting. I cannot possibly cater for the millions of themes that exist and all have their own logic as to how they have set up their z-indexes. the minicart has a z-index of 1000, which one would have thought is high enough in most circumstances. Alas, if some theme uses a higher index somewhere for some reason, there’s nothing much i can do except to suggest to overwrite the z-index as required. everything else I could do is a race to nowhere really.
– if you want things to stick to something somewhere, that’s a theme / layout decision you make. wppizza just provides options/shortcodes/carts and bits and pieces. How you display them is really up to you.
– you really should not be using the sticky cart anyway (see faq’s https://www.wp-pizza.com/topic/sticky-scrolling-cart/)
– i do not understand what a “second menu” is supposed to be. put your stuff in different categories and then you can have as many menus as you like. but maybe i’m missing something
21 June, 2016 at 2:58 pm #19043Sorry Olly, we change the theme between the time I emailed you and you looked at it. As you pointed out a different Themes do different things. We are searching for a theme that will provide us the look that we want.
Thank you for your reply and your help on the other issues.
