Hello Olly, Thank you for the plugin. It’s awesome and works great so far.
If I could make a suggestion/request would be to make te ‘thank you’ page a separate one.
Our restaurant is trying to implement some online market strategies and it would be a very valuable feature if we were able to spot the clients who clicked to buy but didn’t checkout. That way we could make a remarketing campaign to target specifically those users which are the most likely to make a purchase. If the order confirmation page is not separate we cannot track those users.
Also for tracking conversions it would be extremely useful. Right now a conversion for us means the user went to the order page. But sometimes, as explained above, this not necessarily means the sale was made. In order to make a ‘conversion = sale’ we would need a separate confirmation page.
I really think this (aparently) small tweak would make the plugin more profitable for restaurants that are monitoring traffic and/or using tools such as google adwords.

sorry, but that’s not ever going to happen. there’s also nothing “small” about that requestin any event
a) there’s an action hook you can use when orders have been completed (https://www.wp-pizza.com/topic/after-every-order/)
b) how are you going to “target users” that have not given you any details in the first place (as they are just on the order page without having done anything) – then again, with a bit of creative thinking you might be able to do something there…

– That’s too bad the users of WPPIZZA will never be able to really track their conversions in google analytics/adwords. Or use remarketing strategy to increase those conversions for that matter.

– With browser cookies and google analytics/adwords remarketing tags. I am sure you know I can target specific users by creating remarketing rules based on pages they have been combined with pages they have not.
For example I could create a google adwords campaign to target every user that clicked to buy but never checked out based on the rule: “User has been on order page” AND “has not been on thank you page”.
So there is nothing remotely related to spam here.then again, with a bit of creative thinking you might be able to do something there…
– Off course. But still by far not as efficient or elegant as having the plugin fully compatible with the most important e-commerce marketing tools around. Specially being wppizza an marketing tool itself before anything else.
