If you use the maps option, it will use distances only, regardless of what the boundaries of any postcodes are

if you want to restrict by – arbitrary – regions/areas, you will have to use the standard settings and type them in as those different areas in the “Delivery Options” settings of the plugin

using maps: no
using areas/postcodes: only the other way round. that is, include/set all the streets you want as distinct separate “areas” (which will then be streets)

in other words, autocomplete gives you options as you start typing . the more typing you’ve done, the fewer options there will be

in any event, i would think we could have more targeted conversation if you could provide a link to the actual implementation (i.e website/url), otherwise it’s all a bit abstract as there are many factors that could come into play on any given site

my guess would be that you had a session running that needed to be cleared (i.e your browser cache)
which happens automatically if you re-activate/install the plugin

On a different note: I noticed that the preorder plugin has a conflict with the cross sales plugin and outputs the “we are closed at the moment etc ” message in the cross sells plugin too – it doesnt belong there of course. I will fix that ASAP
