Ah, I didn’t see your second post.
So, effectively, you are building the plugin to be as universal as possible, e.g. users can change phones every day and addresses every day, hence there’s no need for registration?
This effectively means that I have to call every client, every time, because I have no idea if it’s someone new with the same name, and old client, or maybe his neighbor, who’s making a prank order.
In other words, your plugin requires additional costs for every customer in the form of time used of my employees to process each order (contact them by phone), which, by itself, means additional calling expenses, all of these resulting in a more expensive final product, which the client receives. It also defeats the purpose of online ordering – they can simply order by phone and skip the hassle of entering their personal data on the site.
You know that your software is used under different scenarios. For example, not everyone lives in a country, where the paycheck is $3000 per month. In fact, most of my customers would consider eating somewhere else, even for a small difference of $0.1, because their monthly income is about $300. That’s why I want a cheap online ordering system, which is free for both the seller and the buyer.
Also, a quick observation – you seem to be building this software, thinking like a customer, but you are actually selling it to the businesses. This is a contradiction and you should consider both parties involved in every feature you add or remove.
It’s also illogical to dismiss my idea, which is beneficial for both sellers and buyers, and you, as a developer, who will profit from selling it as an addon – it may turn out there are more crazy sellers like me, who have the same seemingly strange requirements.
But, as I said, it’s your software and you decide how to develop it – if it doesn’t suit me, it’s not your problem 🙂
I’ll stop here, as well.

My suggestion effectively turns all mobile messengers into ordering apps for WP-Pizza, for free. It also speeds up communication between the two parties and doesn’t require email, which takes anywhere from a second to a few days for someone to receive on his mobile device (e.g. the Gmail Android app doesn’t receive new messages, if storage is full) – given they have entered their email address right in the first place.
As far as messengers are concerned, different countries have gone different ways. In my country, all mobile devices either have Viber or Whatsapp. If we are talking about China, that’s QQ and WeChat. In other words, what sellers and buyers use is not a problem of WP-Pizza and its developer, at all.
I can’t force you into developing your program in a direction you don’t care about. But I believe it’s a good marketing decision, if you want to expand the functionality of your excellent plugin and increase sales (you can develop it as a paid plugin).
I will speak with a couple of friends who may hack this for me and report back with the code, if I am successful.
All the best!
Doh! Whether it checks if emails match or not, they have to enter them twice, yes.
Not really a programmer, and don’t even know how to use actions and filters, but will read more about it, thank you for the information!
Yes, I’ve thought about adding a second email field, but that’s more work for the people ordering, and any changes I make to wp-pizza will be gone with each update.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Thank you – hopefully my business will grow in the future, and I will be able to afford these wonderful extensions.
Keep up the good work!
No problem, thanks for this great plugin!
I’m just contributing my experience as business owner. It is then up to you, as a developer, to decide whether it makes sense to develop extra functionality and possibly cash in on the ignorance of business owners (i.e. not everyone can program or understands how WordPress functions – thankfully I can usually hack things together 🙂 ).
In my country, phone numbers are registered to individual names – there are no anonymous burner (prepaid) cards. So verifying one’s identity upon registration means that I’m not sending my delivery guy to an anonymous person (he can still be a serial killer, but the police can track him easily). This also means that non-paying customers can easily be blocked from ordering in the future, and there can be no prank orders.
Thanks for the plugin suggestion!
Thanks for the quick reply, Mr. Developer, sir! 🙂
